Pegasus TransTech Named Semi-Finalist in Business Competition

June 16, TAMPA, FL — Pegasus TransTech, the trucking technology company, has been named a semi-finalist for the Small Business of the Year Award by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

Pegasus TransTech, perhaps best known for its TRANSFLO and TRANSFLO Express document imaging and management services, is the leading provider of in-house and out-sourced imaging systems that streamline billing, collections, payroll, accounts payable, driver qualifications, and other paper-intensive processes for the trucking industry.

The 2009 Small Business of the Year Awards honor Tampa businesses employing fewer than 250 people. Semi-finalists in the competition were notified during the first week in June; the winners will be announced at a banquet on September 25 at the Tampa Convention Center.

The Tampa competition poses 16 questions that must be answered in individual essays that are judged on these criteria: ethical business practices; business goals and planning; personnel, profitability, and administrative processes; innovation and response to adversity; and community leadership. Typical of the probing questions are these: What is your biggest challenge in keeping your company's growth momentum? How do you plan to tackle this? What is your biggest competitive threat and how do you plan to overcome this?

The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce has conducted the Small Business of the Year awards since 1981.
